Labour Party Conference, Brighton, September 26th 2004

Councillor Sood was presented with the prestigious Labour Merit Award at the Labour Party Conference in September 2005 for her selfless contribution to the Labour Party. She set a benchmark as she became the first Asian female to receive such recognition.

The Award was presented to Councillor Sood by the then Deputy Prime Minister, Rt Hon John Prescott and the then Labour Party Chairman, Rt Hon Ian McCartney as seen below. It was a proud moment for Councillor Sood as her name was displayed at the conference.
